We are hiring a Trauma Therapist to serve our clients!

JOB TITLE: Verity Trauma Therapist 
HOURS: This position is 23 hours/week.
SALARY:  $50 per hour
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations


OVERVIEW:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations, this position provides trauma informed individual and group counseling services for community members impacted by sexual violence.


MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
  • Implements the Verity mission of eliminating violence with a specific emphasis on sexual
    violence and trauma
  •  Provides individual, couples, and family counseling, using an effective theoretical framework,
    to adults and experienced military sexual trauma
  • Provides individual counseling for 10-12 individuals
  • Understands the diversity of our Sonoma County communities
  • Establishes measurable goals with client's input, and relates treatment plan to client goals
  • Demonstrates understanding of transference and countertransference issues with clients
  • Offers appropriate referrals to clients
  • Uses supervisory feedback constructively
  • Documents all client contact and session notes per Verity standards
  • Meets with Executive Director as needed
  • Documents program activities accurately and in a timely manner in agency database
  • Attends to agency needs for documentation and/or reports
  • Coordinates with Director of Operations and Verity team regarding identified needs of clients
  • Completes monthly Victims Compensation billing
  • Other duties as assigned

 

MAJOR QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications Required:
• Master’s degree in a human services field required, and at least two years post-Master’s experience is required
• Experience with both complex and single incident trauma survivors
• Current license or registration as intern/associate as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor required

Qualifications Desired:
• Experience working with clients who have experienced and/or witnessed military sexual assault and other forms of trauma 
• Experience and knowledge of the military, organizations that serve military and veteran families, and those populations
• Experience with and sensitivity to low-income and at-risk population
