Committed to our community.

What Is An Accompaniment?

Our advocates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to accompany survivors of sexual assault during all stages of the criminal investigative process, including: forensic examinations; law enforcement interviews; child advocacy center forensic interviews, also know as “RCC” interviews; and court accompaniments. (Please note; due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, many in-person accompaniments have been postponed; however, and advocate can still accompany you via ZOOM or telephone call if you wish. You have a right to a support person during every step of the way.)

Court Accompaniments:

Contending with the criminal justice system can often times be overwhelming.  It is not uncommon for survivors to experience feelings of voicelessness and fear. Verity’s advocates are highly qualified and can help you navigate through your court proceedings.  We can help you prepare for your court proceedings and will be with you throughout the hearing.  An advocate can accompany you through various criminal justice experiences, including law enforcement procedures, interviews, and trials.  Do not hesitate to call and get the support you deserve today.
