Planning for Safety and Support in Sonoma County

The goal of creating a safety plan with Verity is to ensure your future safety, and to formalize and expand upon the things you have already been doing to keep yourself safe.

Safety Planning with Pets

At Verity, we understand that pets are family, and their safety is just as important during a crisis. If you’re experiencing abuse and have pets, it’s crucial to include them in your safety planning. Leaving an unsafe environment can be even more complicated when you worry about the well-being of your animals.

That’s why Verity partners with Ruthless Kindness, a Sonoma County organization specializing in providing resources and support for pets and their people when abuse occurs. Ruthless Kindness helps ensure that pets are not left behind and can escape dangerous situations safely, just like their owners. Whether it's temporary pet housing, veterinary care, or emotional support, Ruthless Kindness is available to assist you and your furry family members.
