How Can You or Your Organization Help?
Verity’s 24/7 sexual assault crisis hotline is truly the core of all Verity services for survivors of rape and sexual assault, and the crisis line serves as an entry-point to additional support services. Rape crisis counselors ensure survivors know they are not alone and, most importantly, that the assault was not their fault. We support survivors in choosing their path in this life-changing process while providing tools that will empower each survivor to reclaim their life.
All donations to Verity are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our EIN is 94-2437947. When you donate, we will send you a donation receipt for tax purposes. You can donate by cash or check in our office, or donate online here.
If you own or run a company, please consider matching employees’ donations to select nonprofits such as Verity. For other options involving planned and sustained giving, please contact Chris at ED@ourverity.org or 707-545-7270 extension 21.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Become a Verity Volunteer
We could not do a fraction of the work we do without our volunteers. By volunteering at any level in the organization you will learn about the true nature of sexual assault and how it affects each and every person in our society — from the victims and their loved ones to the many prejudices and misconceptions that surround sexual violence and abuse. As a Verity volunteer, you not only have the opportunity to support people at a very critical time of their life, but you help create lasting positive social change as well.
Volunteers are needed in all of the following areas:
- Prevention Educators – we will train you to speak to youth on sexual assault, sexual harassment, and alternatives to violence. Sexual assault prevention workshops are offered to any community group requesting information on child abuse and general sexual violence issues. Please email the Prevention Education Manager if you are interested in learning more.
- Crisis Line Counselors – we will train you in listening skills, crisis counseling, and community resources. You will become a state-certified Counselor. Please email the Crisis Intervention Manager if you are interested in learning more.
- Board of Directors – we are looking for energetic people committed to ending sexual violence. No previous board experience required; we will train you. If you want to learn more, click here.
- Fundraising – Help plan a fundraising event any time of the year or an awareness event during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. Please email the Communications Coordinator if you are interested in collaborating.
