February Newsletter

February 2017 Newsletter
Maybe it’s because February is the shortest month, but it just flew by! We’ve been busy doing outreach and education all over the county, training new volunteers, and building stronger partnerships and coalitions all month — in addition to everything else we always do! We’re excited to be in March, which is Women’s History Month! If you know any upcoming events that you think we ought to be present at, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Verity will be closed on Wednesday, March 8th in observance of International Women’s Day. Of course, our Crisis Line will be up and running as always, because we are here if you need us. If not, take the day to appreciate the wonderful women in your life in whatever way you see fit!

April is National Sexual Assault Awareness month, and we are gearing up to host a bunch of different events, attend events put on by Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College, make presentations all over the community, and do anything we can to spread awareness about sexual assault!

Check out our calendar to see what events are going on, and feel free to suggest event ideas!

We will be having an awareness-raising fundraiser at the Lagunitas Beer Sanctuary in Petaluma on April 25th, and we need volunteer support to make it the best event possible! If you are interested in volunteering, please email our Communications Coordinator, Caitlin!

The Forgotten Warriors Project has made a very productive impact in the community of Veterans as well as Active Duty service members, but we are always looking to grow our programming!

Connecting Veterans and Active Duty service members with resources and relevant resources is our goal, on both a larger scale and in our day-to-date interactions. We are always grateful and looking for donations that we can share with our veterans in need. Items such as socks, dental hygiene items, and even granola bars are always appreciated.

Verity wants to thank the community for their outstanding and continued support of our Veterans. If you have any questions about the Forgotten Warriors program or want to get involved, email Jess at vets@ourverity.org
